At EROS center, I work with the Science Division Team of the Technical Services Support Contract (TSSC) where I utilize numerous Geographic Information System (GIS) software, scripting techniques, statistics, data mining, and/or modeling methodology to produce, manipulate, analyze, and interpret geospatial datasets that contribute to the science focus area. As an integral part of this team of highly talented scientists, technical specialists, and software engineers, I contribute to ecosystem dynamics and land cover monitoring projects and support the dynamic science and technical requirements of our USGS Customer.
Before landing to USGS EROS center, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant in . As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the I taught more than 100 students, worked closely with them to help them excel with an “Ace”. The teaching labs include Spatial Database, GIS Raster and Vector Modelling, and Data Creation and Integration. In addition, I provided technical support for ESRI software to the students, delivered pre-lab talks, demos and trainings on using ArcGIS in problem solving.
As a Research Assistant at , I conducted scientific image analysis for projects requiring change detection, spectral analysis, and classification and established familiarity with characteristics and applications of instruments such as LIDAR, MODIS, VIIRS, ASTER and Landsat.
